Dubai is among the top destination choices for many Kenyans. The reasons for this include:
- Flight costs are relatively affordable
- A variety of accommodation options, from very cheap to luxurious hotels
- Heavy marketing
- An array of activities and attractions to see from the Burj Khalifa to the desert safari, Global Village, among others
However, starting in 2025, local tour agents began facing increasingly stringent requirements from the UAE immigration authorities.

This went against the norm as Kenyans used to get UAE visas within 48 hours.
However, many Kenyan travelers violated UAE immigration laws, such as overstays, leading the authorities to take such measures.

Below are the ‘new’ Dubai visa requirements for Kenyans in 2026:
- Proof of funds for travelers between the ages of 18 and 40 years: If you fall within this age bracket, you are required to provide bank statements showing a closing balance of at least $4,000, which translates to about Ksh 540,000.
- Return ticket – You need to provide a return ticket
- Accommodation booking – Proof of where you will be staying during your trip
- Valid passport – Passport with not less than 6 months validity
- passport photo – A photo of yourself
- Travel passport cover – You might be asked to share the cover of your passport to authenticate the nationality

If you also let them handle your accommodation booking, they will process the visa on your behalf.
However, if you just book your flights with them and leave out the accommodation, you will have to apply for the visa on your own.
