Who Needs a Transit Visa?
If you’re not from a country eligible for a UAE visa on arrival or visa-free entry to the UAE, the Dubai Transit Visa is your only way to leave the airport.

How To Apply For A UAE/Dubai Transit Visa?
Only the UAE-based airline you’re traveling through can arrange your transit visa. This means that you cannot get a transit visa if you are not using a UAE-based airline.
If you’re working with a travel agency, they can assist, but the visas are processed through the airline.
Simply approach the airline agents, and they’ll handle the rest through the eChannels portal, UAEICP app, or online channels provided by the relevant authorities.
Types of Dubai Transit Visas
Dubai offers two main types of transit visas – the 48-Hour Transit Visa and the 96-Hour Transit Visa.

- A passport or travel document with a minimum validity of three months
- A passport photo against a white background
- An onward ticket booking to a 3rd destination, other than the one you are coming from
- Hotel reservation in the UAE
- Filled out application form
Transit Visas for 48 Hours
This transit visa is perfect if you just want to be in the UAE for a day or a little over. Remember, you have to account for travel time between your accommodation and the airport. Also, you will find that your onward flight time might not allow you to fully utilize the full 48 hours.
