The wait is over!
After five months of renovations, the Dubai Fountain resumed operations on October 1, 2025, keeping to the promise that the developer, Emaar, made.
However, it’s essential to remember that this is just the first phase of the renovations. Phase 2 will be complete in 2026.
What New Changes to Expect
The phase 1 upgrade focused more on routine maintenance, fixing, and optimizing elements that were broken. They include:
- The concrete base under the Burj Lake was repaired and waterproofed. Cracks were fixed, insulation added, and tiling refreshed to help reduce water leakage.
- In the basin, blue glowing tiles were installed — these subtly light up underwater, giving the fountain a jewel-like glow.
- The fountain’s water jets, lighting, sound systems, and robotic components were optimized for sharper choreography and synchronized performance
Bigger changes are expected in phase 2 of the renovations.
