  • The Dubai Frame, located at the Zabeel Park gate 4, is open daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
  • The main features are the Old Dubai Gallery, the Sky deck, the Dubai Frame Garden, and the Future Dubai Gallery.
  • The Skydeck offers a 360-degree view of Dubai, allowing you to enjoy its amazing architecture and skyline.

The Dubai Frame is quite the unique tourist attraction, measuring 150 metres tall, earning the title of the tallest frame in the world. It features a photo frame design, adding some spice to Dubai’s skyline. It is a must-see attraction when you visit Dubai.

Construction took 5 years, from 2013 to 2018, when it was officially opened to the public, costing AED 230 million, which is approximately $ 63 million.

The story behind the design is as interesting as the structure. It was conceived as a result of an architectural design competition by ThyssenKrupp, a German steel and engineering company, and the Dubai Municipality.

Fernando Donis, who was the architect who presented the design and won the competition, alleged that he was denied credit for the design.

While viewing it from the outside, you would think it’s a small site with elevators to the viewing deck. However, once you enter this magnificent piece of architecture, you realize it’s more than a viewing deck, as will be explained later in this article.

Additionally, you can also schedule your visit to experience the magical sunset views from the sky deck.

What You Need to Know About The Dubai Frame

The Frame is open daily from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm with ticket prices costing AED 50 plus 5% VAT, bringing the total to AED 52.50.

During Ramadan, you might want to double-check the timings as they might be different.

Children under 12 years old pay AED 20, while infants under three years of age get free access.

Additionally, visitors with disability also get access to the frame for free, and are allowed to have two companions with them. Peak hours are defined as the afternoon hours and early evening. Sunset is also a popular time for visiting.

The recommendation is that you visit the frame twice, once during the day so as to clearly see the Dubai skyline as well as the old Dubai, and secondly, at night, to marvel in the beauty that is Dubai at night. Seeing the buildings light up, and more so the Burj Khalifa, is a memorable viewing.

The other thing to note is that only about 200 people are allowed inside per hour. This is to provide the best customer experience as well as safety to all visitors. There is a lobby area where you can lounge as you wait for your turn.

As mentioned earlier, the Dubai Frame is located at Zabeel Park, about 7 kilometres from the Dubai Mall, 27 kilometres from Dubai Marina, and 8 kilometres from Deira.

The most convenient way to get to the frame is by taxi. You can choose to use the RTA taxis or use a ride-hailing app such as Uber or Careem.

However, you can also use the bus, as it will drop you right at the gate of the frame entrance. The Dubai RTA F09 bus is the one to use, plus this is the most cost-effective way to get there.

You can also choose to use the Dubai metro and make your stop at the Al Jafiliya station. However, prepare to walk for 2 kilometres, which could take around 25 minutes.
