Flydubai, Dubai’s low-cost carrier, is strengthening its presence in East Africa after announcing a new route to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) to boost its already existing route to Mombasa.
Additionally, they have also expanded operations to Mombasa.
Starting 15th October 2025, the airline will connect Dubai to Kenya’s capital with four weekly flights, while increasing its Mombasa service to daily flights from 1st October 2025.
Once the Nairobi operations begin, Flydubai will serve 12 destinations across Africa, with Kenya being one of its most important markets in the region.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, emphasized the strategic value of Kenya during the announcement of the expansion by saying the following:
“Kenya is an important market for flydubai, and we are pleased to strengthen our operations with the addition of Nairobi and the increased frequency of our service to Mombasa. These flights underline the importance of connecting Kenya to Dubai’s global aviation hub, enhancing access for trade, travel and tourism between our two countries.”
Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations (UAE, GCC, Africa, and South Asia), added:
“This expansion provides more convenient options for customers from the UAE and across our network to access Kenya, whether they are travelling for business, leisure, or to visit friends and family. We sincerely thank the Kenyan authorities and our partners for their support in making these routes possible.”

Nairobi: A New Gateway

Expanding Mombasa Operations
Alongside Nairobi, flydubai is boosting its coastal connection by upgrading Mombasa flights to daily service from 1 October 2025. This will bring the airline’s total weekly flights to Kenya to 11, strengthening both business and leisure travel options between the UAE and Kenya.
This will provide price-conscious travelers a great direct option to DXB, as Emirates can be quite expensive.
Growing African Network
With Nairobi’s addition, flydubai now operates flights to 12 destinations in Africa, including Alexandria, Addis Ababa, Al Alamein, Asmara, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Entebbe, Hargeisa, Mombasa, and Zanzibar.
Flights to Nairobi and Mombasa are now available for booking through flydubai’s official website, app, contact centers, or travel partners.
