Introduction
Hi there Dubai Nomad readers. Today’s topic is one that I am really excited to write about, that is, Dubai as your honeymoon destination.
It’s no secret that I love Dubai. And in my head, what better way to celebrate your marriage than spending a couple of days in the United Arab Emirates.
So, I got married during the COVID period, and I could not travel internationally. However, my wife and I had a second honeymoon, and the destination was quite simple to agree on.
Is Dubai a Good Destination For a Honeymoon?
The answer is YES. Dubai is not all concrete and super cars. Not that I do not like that. I actually prefer city life. But Dubai has a lot to offer more than what critics say.
I hear a lot of people say that Dubai doesn’t have a culture and identity and they could not be further from the truth.
As much as only 12% of the population in Dubai is made up of actual emiratis, the emirate is full of rich culture and traditions.
What is The Best Month to Visit Dubai for Your Honeymoon?
My recommendation would be to visit Dubai in the last quarter of the year, that is, between October and December for your honeymoon. Here is why:
- The weather is perfect. It’s not too hot.
- Many events, entertainment spots, and festivals are open during this period.
- There is a festive atmosphere which you’ll definitely notice.
- Some shopping malls and outlets have major discounts and deals.
P.S – End October is an ideal time because it is less crowded than December and a bit cheaper. However, it is important to note that this is not the cheapest time to visit Dubai. You’ll have to cough up quite a bit of cash. But hey, you only live once, right?

Romantic Activities to do During Your Honeymoon
There are a number of things that you and your spouse can do in Dubai but here are my top picks:
- Romantic Dinner at Doors or any other restaurant adjacent to the Dubai fountain. Having dinner on a terrace while watching the Dubai fountain from the comfort of a romantic restaurant eating some steak is priceless. Doors restaurant offers a scenic and romantic vibe to enjoy a night out. Doors Dubai Mall is not a cheap restaurant. You’d pay about Ksh 25,000 per couple for a 3 course meal.
- A visit to the desert. This is more on the adventure side. The Dubai desert safari tour is a full day experience where you take part in dune bashing, quad biking, and a bbq dinner with live performances.
- Spa day. And after a long day of being out in the sun, a relaxing day where you just enjoy massages and treatments is essential. This allows you to be in a relaxed mood as you plan the next activity which is,
- A night out at Dubai Marina. The Marina offers opulence and fun. This is where you will see the Lamborghinis flexing, as well as have a fun night out with great music and experiences.
- And to top it all, it’s important to make a trip to Global Village, a theme park full of adrenaline and funfair.

Best Honeymoon Destinations Outside Dubai
There are two areas that I would want you to visit outside Dubai that you will absolutely love.
The first is an emirate that is not known much and I think that is by design. If I show you images of the destinations in this Emirate, UAE will not be your first guess.
The emirate in question is Fujairah.
Fujairah is the 7th largest emirate in the UAE and is located along the coast. This gives it an edge as it has a number of hotels along the beach with beautiful views.
Some of the notable hotels include:
- Palace Beach Resort Fujairah
- Price: Ksh 28,000 per night including breakfast
- Rating: 9.0
- Doubletree By Hilton Fujairah City
- Price: Ksh 18,000 per night including breakfast
- Rating: 8.5
- Address Beach Resort Fujairah
- Price: Ksh 35,000 per night including breakfast
The other destination outside Dubai is Ras Al Khaimah. It’s another lesser known Emirate but that does not take any beauty away from it. As of 2023, Ras Al Khaimah had a population of just over 400,000 people.
It’s a historic city with a lot of rich experiences.
What’s The Tentative Budget for a Honeymoon in Dubai?
The total budget we are looking at for the entire honeymoon period is approximately $3800 (About Ksh 500,000) including flights, visas, hotels, activities, and transport within the country.
I call this a budget friendly honeymoon because It’s not very extravagant but it’s also not too cheap thus allowing you to have a great experience.
Remember that this is not just any other trip but your honeymoon. So you ‘must’ be willing to go an extra mile. You can go on for other budget trips to Dubai later on.
Why Choose Dubai as your Honeymoon Destination?
A honeymoon is a special time to celebrate love and the start of a new life together. If you can and want to make it extra special, Dubai is a great place to go. Here’s why:
- Flights are quite affordable
- It’s quite easy to get a UAE visa
- There are a lot of activities to do in Dubai
- Dubai offers warm weather
- Romantic experiences are in plentiful
- There are entertainment venues and events often
- Great landmarks to tick of your bucket list
To conclude, October (End month) is the best month to visit Dubai for your honeymoon.
