Abu Dhabi’s and the UAE’s main airline courier, Etihad Airways, will resume direct flights from Nairobi to Abu Dhabi starting 15th December 2024.
There will be 4 flights per week with the following schedule for departures and arrivals:
Departures – 18:20 hrs and 04:20 hrs
Arrivals – 13:40 hrs and 03:30 hrs
This is part of an expansion plan the airline has been undertaking over the past 12 months to compete and try catch up with other Middle Eastern airlines such as Emirates and Qatar Airways.

Etihad will also be announcing about 9 new routes in November, Nairobi being one of them and the only one not being completely new.
Some of the other destinations include:
- Warsaw, Poland
- Prague
- Bali
- Al Qassim
- Jaipur
Etihad Airways will utilize Terminal 1B at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi for departures and Terminal 1E for arrivals.
Etihad used to fly from Nairobi but halted its operation after the COVID-19 outbreak and has faced delays in resuming flights from the capital of Kenya. The delays have been rumoured to be caused by the airline’s failure to get regulatory approval from Kenya.
