Absolutely. Dubai is not a dry emirate. You can drink alcohol as long as you are doing it in designated areas and an orderly manner.
How can I buy alcohol in Dubai?
You can buy alcohol in Dubai in stores, but you do need a special permit to be able to do so. In 2020, Dubai introduced a license allowing tourists to get the license permitting them to buy alcohol in stores. Previously, only residents could obtain the license.
This license is given for 30 days but is extendable.
This permit, however, can be obtained from the liquor store where you are getting your alcohol. Just show your passport and they will provide you with the permit as well as the alcohol.
There are two main retailers when it comes to selling alcohol. They are Maritime and Mercantile International (MMI) or African + Eastern stores.

So, can I buy alcohol at the Duty-free shop in DXB and enter with it?
Yes you can. And the best part is, you do not need a license for this. You just need to show you passport and get the alcohol.
The stores are located next to the baggage belts in the arrival hall.
Buying alcohol at the duty-free shops is usually the best option as alcohol in Dubai is pretty expensive. The government of Dubai recently re-introduced a 30% tax on alcohol that it had paused in 2022.
