Everyone wants value for their money, especially when going for a trip. In this article, I detail the cheapest period to visit Dubai and how to best do it.

The cheapest time to visit Dubai is during the summer.

However, in this article, I want to show you not only the cheapest time to visit but also how to do it. Also, I’ll share a bonus month that I have noticed has some great rates and is not during the summer!

Dubai is one of my favourite cities, as you can tell by the existence of this blog. It offers a lot of experiences and attractions for every traveler from skyscrapers to rich culture.

And yes, Dubai and UAE as a whole has a rich culture, contrary to what many travelers might say.

Cheapest Time to Visit Dubai: June to August

Let’s start with the most budget-friendly option.

If you’re looking to get great deals on accommodations and activities, consider visiting Dubai during the summer months, from June to August. Yes, it’s hot—temperatures can get to 105°F (40°C) or more, and humidity can be a challenge.

However, don’t let the heat deter you entirely. Your pockets will thank you later.

What to Expect During the Dubai Summer:

  • Temperature: The Dubai temperatures are between 33°C and 42°C.
  • Weather: Be prepared for relentless sun and occasional sandstorms. Outdoor activities, such as long walks may be limited during the day. I however did the Dubai Desert Safari during the summer and it wasn’t that bad. Maybe the excitement made me not realize how scorching it was.
  • Significance: The Dubai Summer Surprises Festival offers 10 weeks of themed events, making it a hot spot for indoor entertainment.
  • Why You Should Visit Now: Hotels offer enticing discounts, and indoor attractions remain comfortable thanks to air conditioning. Malls become your go to place because of the AC, and Dubai’s nightlife keeps the party going.

Tips for a Summer Trip: Stay hydrated, dress lightly, and use antiperspirant (deodorant) please. Consider indoor activities during the day, and if you’re feeling adventurous, a desert safari can still be on the agenda.

Best Time to Visit Dubai If Budget is Not an Issue: November to March

Dubai has an outpour of tourists during the winter months, from October to March. This is the peak season, and for a good reason — it offers ideal weather and an abundance of events and activities. For example, the Global Village, one of the best attractions in the world, is open only during the winter months.

What to Expect During Dubai’s Winter:

  • Temperature: Enjoy pleasant temperatures ranging from 17°C to 30°C.
  • Weather: Dubai experiences clear skies with low humidity, and there’s a chance of mild rain. During my winter visits, the weather is nothing short of magnificent, beautiful and all the best adjectives you can think of.
  • Significance: Dubai has a number of festivals, events, and sports competitions, including the Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai International Film Festival, and Dubai Marathon.
  • Why You Should Visit Now: Perfect weather allows you to explore the city comfortably. The city is buzzing with energy, and outdoor adventures are at their peak.

Tips for a Winter Getaway: Pack some long-sleeved shirts and a jacket for cooler evenings. Apply sunscreen in January and February to protect yourself from strong UV rays.

Shoulder Seasons: April-May and September-October

Dubai’s transition months offer a balance between summer and winter. Visiting during these periods means milder temperatures and fewer crowds.

What to Expect During Transition Months:

  • Temperature: April-May ranges from 25°C to 38°C, while September-October sees temperatures between 26°C and 38°C.
  • Weather: Clear skies and moderate conditions make outdoor activities more enjoyable.
  • Significance: April features the Dubai Food Festival, while September brings music festivals and camel racing in October.
  • Why You Should Visit Now: It’s a Goldilocks scenario—neither too hot nor too cold. You’ll find good deals on accommodation, and the sea temperatures are inviting.

Tips for Transition Months: Plan indoor activities during April and May to beat the heat, and use sunscreen and stay hydrated. In September-October, you will enjoy cooler evenings and comfortable outdoor exploration.

Dubai’s Unique Appeal Year-Round

Dubai welcomes visitors throughout the year, and the best time to visit largely depends on your preferences.

Whether you’re after lower prices, pleasant weather, or specific events, Dubai’s calendar is packed with excitement.

If you are also looking to relocate to a new place, I would highly recommend the U.A.E. Whether you are a freelancer or you own your business, Dubai offers great perks and makes it relatively easy for one to do business.

Bonus Month

March is the bonus month for Dubai. In some years, visiting Dubai in March is relatively cheaper than during the summer months. Flights and accommodation are slightly cheaper priced. I can vouch for this as my wife and I traveled to UAE and Qatar during March 2024 and we paid about $450 for a multi-city flight ticket.
