What is the Global Village?
Global Village is a theme park based in Dubai that converges different cultures across the globe into one destination through entertainment, shopping, dining experiences, and attractions. They have pavilions set across the area that showcase different cultures.
It is located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Exit 37. Read below on how to get there.
When is the Global Village usually opened?
Global Village is a seasonal attraction meaning it’s opened only during the winter months, between October and April and closed during the summer months.
Season 29, which is the next one, is set to start in October 2024 and end in April 2025.
This is of course because of the weather. The winter months usually have more visitors.
But, if you are like me, and weather is not as important as the money needed :), then the summer period can be a great time to travel to UAE as you save a lot. Find out how in the article attached below:

What are the ticket prices for Global Village?
The ticket cost is 30 Dirhams, that is about $8. Children below 3 years get free entrance. Other groups that get free entrance include seniors aged 65 years and above as well as People of Determination.
There is so much to do at this park. It’s the world brought together into one place where you can:
- Taste your way around the globe: From Thai curries to Russian dumplings, your get to do a food world tour. We had some amazing burgers from one of the stands. One of the best burgers I have ever had. The bread was freshly made and very soft. The meat had flavour.
- Shop like a local: Each country has its own pavilion, offering unique souvenirs and handcrafted goods. We bought some wallets and other small items that we use till today. So I can vouch for the quality of things being sold there.
- Thrill Seek or Chill Out: Feeling adventurous? The arcade area offers heart-stopping drops and classic games. I chose to face my fears and paid for the drop tower in the arcade. I think we were almost 100 metres high if not more, I could see the city from above. The drop was so fast, my heart and lips were left at the top and found me down. It was a once in a lifetime experience.
- Family Fun for Everyone: Haunted houses (not-so-scary kind!), carnival games, and rides keep everyone entertained.
Global Village Timings and rules
The park is open daily from 4:00pm to 12:00am. However, Tuesdays (except for public holidays) are reserved for families, couples and ladies.
Here are some of the rules that you need to adhere to:
- Pets are not allowed – Simple and straight to the point
- Avoid too much public display of affection – This does not mean you can’t hold your partners hand or give them a kiss. I did a lot of that 🙂 However, do it with moderation. Do not give guys the whole show.
- Dress modestly – Do not go there with barely any clothes on. You can wear shorts and all but leave some room for imagination
- Filming is not allowed without a permit – Again, you can use your phone or camera. What I got from this is that you cannot have like a production there, multiple cameras and crew
How to get to Global Village
Let me first start with how we got there and then let you know of other means that you can use.
We were staying at the Ibis styles Deira, so we took a train from the nearest station, the Gold Souk Metro Station, to the Oud Metha Metro Station. We were hoping to get a bus but we were late and ended up taking a taxi to Global Village.
