Why Ugandans Will Not Be Able to Travel to Dubai in 2026

Starting January 1st 2026, Ugandan nationals will not be able to travel to the UAE following a ban by the UAE immigration.

This comes after speculations that 9 countries were put on a UAE visa ban for various reasons.

The UAE immigration has over the last couple of years tightened its rules amid growing numbers of violations by tourists.

Some of these violations include:

  • Visa overstays
  • Working illegally
  • Engaging in criminal activities

In the UAE, overstaying your visa might lead to a lifetime travel ban to the country.

Travelers are advised to apply for visa extensions in the event they are unable to leave the country at the required date.

Many African nations have seen their visa processes to the UAE become stricter and longer.

UAE visas used to be among the easiest to obtain. You would get one within 24 or 48 hours.

Now, the process can even take a week, and one is required to provide proof of funds, which is mostly about $4,000.

This situation is unfortunate for legitimate travelers, as they face this situation because a few people have broken the law.

Travelers to Dubai and the UAE are advised to obey the law and ensure they obtain the correct visa upon entry.

For those looking for jobs, different types of visas allow you to enter the country for a set number of days/weeks to look for a job.
