A common question many Kenyan travellers ask when they arrive in the UAE is:
“Is there a Kenyan church in Dubai?”
And the answer is yes, there are churches predominantly made up of Kenyan members.
One of the churches serving Kenyans in Dubai is Holy Seed Church.
Location: located near Abu Baker Al Sadique Metro Station, Al Khabaisi, Dubai
Service times: Every Sunday from 10:00am to 1:00pm
Contact details: +971 56 662 0999
Holy Seed Church has around 180 members, with 90% being Kenyans. The remaining members include congregants from:
- Cameroon
- Nigeria
- Uganda
- Tanzania
- Zimbabwe
- Congo, among others.
It’s a youthful church, full of energy, music, and community. For a relatively young congregation to have almost 200 members in Dubai, that’s quite an achievement.

The Founder’s Journey
The church was founded by Apostle Wellington Shitsukane, who is also the senior pastor.
He grew up in Nakuru, Kenya, where he owned a music shop that sold instruments. But during the 2007/2008 post-election violence, he was targeted and had to flee for his life. With no certainty about the future, he left Kenya and landed in the UAE.
For a week, he stayed in a hotel. But when his money ran out, he left the hotel and began searching for work. Thankfully, he found a job quickly, and that marked the beginning of his new life in Dubai.

Today, he works for an e-commerce company that sells musical instruments, a beautiful full-circle moment because it connects back to the work he used to do in Kenya.
