Etihad Airways Refund Policy

Etihad has a refund and flight change policy that is clearly outlined on their website.

Below is a quick overview of the terms of a getting a refund:

  • There is a cancellation fee of 100.00 USD (Anytime before the flight) and 250.00 USD (in case of no show or the last 4 hours before departure) per one passenger
  • Refund process will take from 5 up to 14 days to reflect
  • The refund will be paid on the same form of payment you had paid with.

Troubleshooting

We had booked 4 tickets to go to Dubai via Abu Dhabi. However, we faced some major UAE visa delays in Kenya and opted to cancel our tickets.

We went to the “manage booking” section on the Etihad website but could not find the refund option under Quick Actions.

We therefore used the live chat option to explain this and seek assistance and the experience was a ten out of ten.

The agent was very knowledgeable and patient in the whole process. The agent needed the booking reference and they did the rest.

Normally, one would be charged $30 per passenger for such assistance but because the option to get a refund was not on my dashboard, they waived the fee, which was a nice touch.
