So, What Does Emirates Look For When Hiring Cabin Crew?
The requirements for being an Emirates cabin crew are not too crazy. The only thing that might be tricky is their height requirement. Let’s have a look at all the requirements:
- Fluent in English: You need to be able to write and speak English fluently. Knowing additional languages is a bonus, as it allows for better communication with passengers from diverse backgrounds. This means you might fast track your chance of getting into business or first class if you perform well in Economy.
- A natural team player: Teamwork is important at Emirates, so being able to collaborate and work efficiently with a team is important.
- Minimum height of 160cm: You need to be able to reach 212cm while standing on tiptoes, which ensures you can access the safety equipment in the aircraft.
- Eligible for a UAE employment visa: This means you must be legible to work in the UAE. Note that Emirates will cater for your work visa!
- At least 21 years old: Emirates requires its cabin crew to be mature enough to handle the responsibilities of the job.
Experience and Educational Requirements
In addition to the personal qualifications, Emirates also asks for:
- 1 year of hospitality or customer service experience: This ensures that you are familiar with delivering high-quality service to customers but at the same time not locking out many individuals.
- Minimum high school education: You need to have completed at least Grade 12. This is Form Four for prospects using the British curriculum.
- No visible tattoos while in uniform: Emirates maintains a professional appearance for its cabin crew and visible tattoos are not allowed. So, you can have a tattoo, as long as it’s not visible.
